Beehive Plans

People are dependent on bees for pollinating our crops. Without bees we would not be able to grow enough food to keep ourselves alive. So I thought I would share the best beehive plans I could find. These plans have a sloped roof to keep the bees dry and legs to keep the hive off the ground.

Traditionally, beehives are made from Western Red Cedar. A wood that will last well without treatment. However, Western Red Cedar is quite expensive. Douglas Fir or any straight-grained, well-seasoned pine can also do the job. You weather-proof the wood with a linseed oil and beeswax mixture.
