How to Double Your Drawer Space with a Sliding Insert

Most drawers include a lot of wasted space. Even at only 6″ deep, most drawers are only at half capacity because nothing in there sits higher than 3″. It takes some effort but you can retro-fit your existing drawers with a sliding tray system, doubling their capacity. Removing the back of the drawer lets the top tray slide back into the cabinet while the drawer is open. So we aren’t dealing with a half-size sliding insert.
