How to Make a Classic Bar Stool

This project looks easy, but quite a few of the woodworkers who tried making the bar stool stuffed it up. So remember to measure twice and cut once. In the video he screws the legs into the seat. You can however also do that with dowels for a slightly more professional look.

In the video he uses Danish oil. Typically a Danish oil consists of a mixture of tung oil and varnish. It penetrates into the wood, unlike a film finish, which sits on the surface. That penetration gives a depth to the wood’s grain.
