How to Make a Toothing Plane

A toothing plane is a very high angle block plane with a blade that has a serrated edge. It creates a surface with tiny grooves in it. These surfaces glue together better than flat surfaces. The tool is frequently used in veneering. A toothing plane also works on wood that has too much tear-out, when you use another type of plane. You would use the toothing plane and then sand the surface to get a smooth surface, with less tear-out.
