Men’s Valet Box Plans

The original version of this box came from a department store in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1950. Though I like the design, it wasn’t very well made. The original was just nailed together, so I decided to make a more durable version. The most important feature of this box is the curved lid. The original lid was plywood, instead I used solid 8/4 stock that I coved on the tablesaw. When you cove-cut on the tablesaw you run your workpiece across the blade at an angle. If you vary the angle it changes the shape of the cut. However setting up the saw to create this cut is quite simple.
