I don’t like the stain he used on the chest. I would have gone with a darker stain. A darker stain would have made the chest look older. Also the size of the lock is somewhat large for the size of the chest. You could probably get a more authentic look if you add some iron straps. What I do like about this video is how he makes the top of the chest. By cutting the angles correctly on the table saw, gluing it together and then clamping it. He does a real nice job of getting the look of the treasure chest’s lid right.
