This pattern depicts a woman’s face. Her face is at a 45 degree angle and she is not looking at the viewer. Her mouth is somewhat open and she is looking upwards. Of course we don’t know what she might be looking at.
In terms of dimensions this pattern is very high but not wide. So the back part of the head is cut of. The pattern just focuses on the face.
A face is one of the more difficult subjects. People have certain expectations when looking at a human face. What this means is that any small imperfections will tend to stand out.
